Ecological  footprint  calculates  the  aggregate land and water areas
   required  for  consumption  and  waste  disposal. This includes arable
   land,  pasture,  forest,  ocean, builtup land, and fossil energy (land
   required for vegetation to absorb the CO[2] produced by burning fossil
   fuels.).
