Biodiversity can be measured at three levels:

1. Genetic diversity: genetic variation within and between populations.

2. Species diversity: diversity of species in an ecosystem, as measured by species richness and relative abundance.

3. Ecosystem diversity: variety of communities and ecosystems in the biome or biosphere.
